IF: Milton Keynes International Festival 2014 (IF: 2014) has invited choreographer Rosemary Lee to be an Artist-in-Residence.
Rosemary is developing a large scale dance-performance that will take place in the ‘Cathedral of Trees’ in Milton Keynes. This is a special site where a full-scale floor plan of the gothic Norwich Cathedral has been followed in a planting of trees - the Cathedral is now 30 years old and the trees well established.
Rosemary Lee is an internationally renowned choreographer, and has been choreographing, performing and directing for over twenty years. She is known for working in a variety of contexts and media, and has created large-scale site-specific work with cross-generational casts as well as solos for herself and other performers, installations and films.
Rosemary has made a number of visits to the Cathedral of Trees site and Milton Keynes over the past six months. Her ideas are at an early stage of development and she is hoping to work with professional and non-professional dancers/performers, musicians and visual artists from the area and beyond.
