If you have a thing for good food then The World Picnic is the place to be. Throughout the event there will be theatre performances, entertainment, cookery demonstrations, dance and live music from around the world. So dig out the chequered blanket and wicker picnic basket, and enjoy a great day out!

Miche Fabre Lewin: Cum Panis (Together with Bread), from 1pm with a bread ritual at 4pm: A lively bread breaking ritual to celebrate different cultures, nature and the soil that gave us the wheat to make the bread . . . Commissioned by IF for The World Picnic
Graeae with Strangefruit: Against The Tide, 1pm and 4pm: A dramatic telling of a bitter-sweet tale set in a near future . . .
Hoodwink: Gastronomic, 2pm and 5pm: An elaborate theatrical feast full of visual delight and strange invention, compete with flies in the soup, exploding fish, runaway puddings and a table that literally walks off in disgust!
Festive Road - Brewing Up, 2.30pm: The nation’s favourite drink gets the Festive Road treatment - a giant kettle, musicians and a tea-tastic performance!
Carnival arts company Festive Road are also setting a challenge for the people of Milton Keynes to bring their giant musical kettle to the boil! How many people will it take? Come along and find out! There will also be a performing tea set and up to 40 young musicians from street bands across the South East. Brewing Up is one of many events being held around the UK to celebrate London 2012 in a national Open Weekend.
