Friday 16 July: Making the New with Janek Schaefer - The Festival’s artist in residence, sonic artist Janek Schaefer, discusses the inspiration and process for creating his new commission for IF - Asleep At The Wheel - an installation revealing our necessity for a cultural revolution towards global sustainability. Monday 19 July: A Magical Journey with Artichoke's Helen Marriage and Nicky Webb, La Machine's Frederic Le Gavrian in conversation with Monica Ferguson, Festival Director - Creative company Artichoke discuss The Magical Menagerie with French colleague Frederic Le Gavrian - the story of its being commissioned from François Delarozière and La Machine by the new town Sénart just outside Paris, and then how it was brought to Milton Keynes for its UK debut as part of IF. Tuesday 20 July: Installation, A Collective Creation - The inStallation collective discuss their unique performance work, being brought together by chance at a shared rehearsal space at the winter quarters of Circus Monti near Wohlen in Switzerland, and the alchemy of their diverse talents they bring to the creative whole. Wednesday 21 July: Festival Making with Bill Gee, Creative Producer for IF - A review of the past hectic months and the challenge of putting together a new festival, finding inspiration in a new city, experiencing artistic adventures in unusual locations and working with an established venue stepping out into the public realm for the first time. Thursday 22 July: Evelyn Glennie in Conversation with Monica Ferguson, Festival Director - World-acclaimed solo percussionist, motivator, composer and educationalist Dame Evelyn Glennie shares excerpts from her film Touch The Sound, and engages in conversation and Q&A with the audience for the Talking Shop Series. She collaborates on Late Night Lounge with improviser and guitarist Fred Frith at IF. To watch the film click here
